November Hymn

November Hymn

By Rebekah Choat

Come now, let us gather in
seed and sorrow, joy and tears,
shining as the days grow dim
in the circle of the year.

Let us sing the songs of bounty,
tempered with remembered need.
Let the sacrifice be counted.
Say once more the ancient creed.

Sing the songs of cloud and sunlight;
bless the spring and autumn rain.
Harmony of morning and night
sounds in ripened fruit and grain.

With rejoicing come together,
brothers, sisters, neighbors, friends;
giving thanks to our one Father
in the song that has no end.

Come now, let us gather in
seed and sorrow, joy and tears,
shining as the days grow dim
in the circle of the year.
