Midweek Muse: NaPoWriMo Days 14 to 17

Day 14: Superhero senryu

It has its pluses,

invisibility, but

mostly it’s lonely

Day 15: Pantun
I swear it’s not about a book
this need to write, to be read.
The headache is a symptom, could
be stress or laying too long in bed.

Day 16: TO MARINA TSVIETAIEVA – A TRANSLATION

(with apologies to Damaris Calderón)

The cold

of blue terror
in the tongue-tased language

of a salted land

and too many sangrias:

The official plate cleaner

genuflects

with hands of time

in the summer of a certain heart.

The red ones

the white ones

the fast cars

and the lost causes

walk with charm to my palace

of apparent warmth

with stars beaming bold and cold

in my tiny extremities.

Day 17: Hello

We stare each other

down, me and the blank page

An icy greeting
